Paris

In a fresh and self-assured approach Matthieu Boulard applies anthropomorphic aesthetics to the plants. To highlight their natural shapes, he draws inspiration from the use primitive tribes make of the clay to paint their bodies. As a celebration of the vegetable kingdom, his work interrogates nature domestication as well as our place in the cycle of life. Relying on innovative techniques, his creations are intimately tied to the tree, evolving with controlled alteration along with the plant model growth. This artistic ambition can manifest itself in global development projects, in private garden or living rooms.
